David Dyer
European Business (Berlin) Division
Anglia Business School

Dear David,

Positive feedback from European Business (Berlin) students

Students often criticise Anglia Polytechnic University, but we would hereby like to give some positive feedback about the European Business (Berlin) course.

Despite several administrative problems, we greatly enjoyed our stay at Anglia. Our studies have not only contributed immensely to our comprehension of the business world, but also improved our interpersonal skills and advanced our personal development. We especially benefited from the work experience of the placement year and the demanding final year in which we could interrelate practice and theory.

In particular, we would like to thank the following outstanding lecturers:

Lester Lloyd-Reason has delivered his lectures in a well-structured style and has always incorporated topical examples, making his lectures highly motivating and lively. The seminar and exam case studies have been challenging, but have enabled us to apply theoretical models to real-life business problems and to manage our own scare resource (time) effectively.

Dr. Tim Harrisâ lectures have been extremely well-prepared and well-structured. Very clear scripts have enabled students to follow the different topics easily, and he has always been open to answer studentsâ questions and offer advice.

Tony Smithâs modules have been highly demanding and a lot of work was needed to follow them. However, at the same time extensive support was given. As a consequence, a steep learning curve has been achieved by many students.

ÊLiz Hillâs well-structured lectures have provided a good basis for the Îdo it yourselfâ seminars where students have had to carry out realistic business projects like the ÎMarketing Gameâ and a market research survey in teams. Her modules haveÊ incredibly increased our confidence in being able to deal with real-life marketing situations.

David James has illustrated the theory of marketing with many useful examples from his own business experience thereby emphasising the practical relevance of marketing models.

David Dyer and George Caroll have taught difficult statistical concepts in a clear, well-structured, easy-to-follow manner. The seminars have enabled students to apply their forecasting skills to some real data using spreadsheets. Overall, the module has been very demanding but also very interesting.

We would like to express our great thanks to these lecturers without whom studying at Anglia would have been less motivating and less beneficial to our professional future. We will always recall the lectures in a positive light and hope that our successors appreciate the professionalism of the outstanding lecturers of the business school.

Thanks again and all the best for the future,

Representing the 1998 graduates of the European Business (Berlin) course
